Be civil, respectful, and kind. We expect people to behave maturely. Absolutely no illicit or offensive behavior is tolerated. We also expect people to be open about any sort of discomfort they feel within the group, with other members, or with mods. We're all just trying to have fun, so it's important to be understanding! Try to be aware and careful of sensitive or harmful subjects, as well.
This group is 18+, and please work with the tone of the overall roleplay. We do not accept members younger than 18. However, the content and tone of this roleplay should remain tactful, meaning: nothing involving extreme violence, overt sexual themes, heavy drug use, or severe mental health issues as these can all be very triggering.
On that same note, this roleplay first and foremost is about reconnecting with people, nature, and the magic that comes with both of those things — romance (and by further extension, sexual interactions between characters) is certainly an aspect of those things, but it’s not what this roleplay is about. There is an underlying story to all of this that the mods have worked hard to put together, and players can unwind it at their own pace, but please don’t reduce this roleplay (or characters) to just their potential for romance or sexual content.
The writing of this roleplay doesn’t necessarily have to be outright family friendly - profanity and naturalistic writing is certainly allowed! - but we do expect people to discuss mature subjects in a more mature or composed way.
No godmodding, metagaming, or disrespecting other roleplay styles. Roleplay should feel naturalistic, without players trying to take control of everything or making their characters aware of things they wouldn't normally be. That being said, players should try to adapt or work accordingly with each other based on their different ways of writing or roleplaying. Some people prefer action, whereas others prefer to focus on dialogue. As long as it fits in with the tone, anything can work! Don’t shame, judge, or berate a player if their methods are different.
Keep players separate from their characters. Don’t make a character act on your behalf as a player or try to manipulate the situation in any manner. This works inversely as well - your opinion of a character should not affect your opinion of the player.
Don't feel obligated to roleplay every day. While we do want people to be active in the roleplay, the overall pace is very laidback. Please roleplay at your leisure or however your schedule allows, and we actually advise that you don't focus on this roleplay all the time! Sometimes it's good to vary things up or pause. There will always be something new to do and uncover in Harmony Hills, so if you need to take a break you can always jump back in with ease or mods can fill you in if you missed something. If your character is interacting with another character whose player has been inactive, isn't present, or the interaction simply has come to a standstill, you can have your character move on to other things or you can contact the player just in case. You don't have to write your character's every entrance or exit, although this is highly affected by the scenario. Play by ear!
